AIDS
Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS) caused by human immunodeficiency virus (HIV).
This virus attacks and destroyes the white blood cells that are responsible for body's immune system.
It is a fatal, chronic and lifelong disease. In this disease HIV strike upon the two groups of white blood cells namely CD4+ lymphocyte and monocyte.
Ways of transfer
• During sex ( Anal, Vaginal)
• By using contaminated syringes,needles and other instruments.
• Contaminated blood and tissues
• Mother to child transmission.
